According to TMZ , Flair suffered the fall while at Tampa's Wagamama bar and restaurant. Flair reportedly got up from the bar, leaving behind his phone and drink, and walked across the street, at which point he fell and injured his face. Those injuries including a cut to his eye and head, with the eye "bleeding extensively," plus a possible concussion.
The incident came only hours after Flair publicly announced he was canceling an upcoming appearance in Seattle due to a blood clot in his leg , with a procedure scheduled to strip the affected vein.
In his post from the hospital Saturday, Flair thanked his fans and hospital staff, while noting he was up until 4:30 a.m. the previous night. He also distanced himself from "Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook" during his hospital stay, calling it "Completely Inappropriate."
Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger. Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me! I Am Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay! And Just So You Know For Those Who Were Asking And Wondering, I Don't Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore. I Apologize For The Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook When I Was In The Hospital. It Was Completely Inappropriate!
Flair's daughter Charlotte had previously provided an encouraging report Friday evening.
It's unclear what Facebook posts Flair is exactly talking about, but his Facebook profile with 3.4 million followers has published several posts in the last 24 hours that ignore the condition of its namesake.
There was also a republishing of his post on X , in which he notes he no longer owns the page. The backstory there is that Flair has filed a $10 million lawsuit against a digital talent agency he accused of misleading him into signing away his name, image and likeness rights, which apparently included control of his Facebook page and its proceeds.
